World Science Conference held in New York. In attendance, Dr. Jeffrey Austen and his assistant, Dr. Radia Ghazi. Working on development of drug to treat dead cells in the human body. Great strides have been made with lab rats. Could potentially assist in rejuvenation of damaged nerves, muscles, and bone.
February 10th: Associated Press
First reports of violent outbreaks in New York and California. The World Science Conference, which ended just four days ago, is thought to be the launch-point of an infection that is baffling the scientific community. First signs are massive swelling of the glands along the throat and hazy vision. Without treatment, symptoms rapidly decline to near-psychotic behavior. Almost two hundred believed to be infected as of press-time and the CDC is calling for a halt to all consumer travel.
February 19th: Associated Press
All public transportation is shut down. Local police departments in every state are reporting rioting and acts of violence. The President is enacting marshall law against the advisement of his advisors. The CDC responds it will be too little, too late.
March 6th: Center for Disease Control
The police and fire departments are decimated. Countless hospitals and nursing homes have been attacked by the infected who find the sick and elderly easy prey. Schools have been closed for weeks, since the President declared a state of national emergency. We were the 37th country around the world to make such a claim. The cabinet has been moved to a secure location undisclosed to the public. The CDC is working to analyse and combat this disease.
March 7th: Unknown Writer
The US Military has pulled in all uninfected troops from abroad. Marshall law has thus far meant nothing to the infected. They do not have the capacity to understand boundaries or curfews. Their only drive is killing and feeding.

Access to Internet capability is difficult. No sign of police or military. There is constant violence in the streets. Those who aren't infected are hiding at night and scavenging during the day. God help us all.
June 9th: ZAT Command - Kate, Oklahoma
We're piggy-backing off a military satellite. Not sure if there's anyone alive over there but we'll use their signal all the same. Last month, a contingent of National Guard rolled through Tulsa and took out a lot of the infected. Unfortunately, they set up a base of operations at the airport which was difficult to defend. Most were attacked and killed on the airfield. The few who survived were infected. Micah took the team out. They brought back a tank, two transport vehicles, and countless weapons/supplies. He also brought a duffle filled with baggies of personal effects and dog tags for the fallen soldiers. Our list of the dead is growing too fast. He used jet fuel to burn what was left of the bodies. Our kids are growing up too fast and brutally to ever be the same again.
July 4th: ZAT Command - Kate, Oklahoma
We received a short-wave radio broadcast from the President. Of all the members of the government who were sequestered, only 19 survived. There was a young woman among them with no signs of illness. She was a carrier. The Secret Service contained only two men immune to the infection. They were forced to kill everyone who was. We're developing a better system every day. I'm sad for the kids we've found who have no one left. I feel like the old woman in the shoe but I don't mind. They're too young for this shit. Someone has to help them. We moved to an old bed-n-breakfast twenty miles from the nearest town. It was abandoned but there were signs of struggle everywhere. There is a main house and six smaller cabin-type structures as well as being situated on a hill and being highly defensible. Micah is already building concrete block gun turrets.
July 21st: ZAT Command - Kate, Oklahoma
We're seeing other cells of survivors pop up on the grid. So few considering. Our fighters are getting stronger and better each session Micah spends with them. Evan is showing amazing strides as a leader. He's older than some of the fighters at seventeen and they look up to him. When they resent Micah's rules, Evan explains how the rules have kept us alive.
August 13th: ZAT Command - Kate, Oklahoma
One of my brothers made it. Vaughn showed up today in a panel truck filled with supplies...and weed. [sigh] Some things never change and I'll have to really watch the young people to make sure they don't try to score. He's lightened the mood considerably and manages to chill out even Micah who seems constantly balanced on a razor's edge. He'll be good for morale and Evan is teaching him to shoot.
